The Final Act - Short film

My Roles: Director, animator, modeler, texture artist, and voice talent

This was a fun project with many technical challenges and a tight 9 week deadline from concept to a finished film. It was a great working with our small group of 8 graduate students at SCAD to conceive and deliver this fun short film. I'm very proud of what we were able to accomplish together. This 3D animated short film was made using Maya and composited in Nuke, and Adobe After Effects

For this film I was voted by the team to be the director, and my contributions were in story development, storyboarding direction, animating, modeling, texturing, set dressing, lighting direction, rendering/compositing, and even voice acting for the character Carl.

Our team was one of few classes that had been able to complete the short film within the short window of 9 weeks, and we even completed ours 1 week ahead of schedule. In subsequent quarters, I was invited by professors to come talk and even advise classes on how keep the story simple, share how we overcame challenges, and ultimately meet the deadline with a finished film.
